I find this to be the most unique of all the Stark renditions I have seen.
Rather than show the family together, this artwork demonstrates the many different paths that lay before this family.
The Stark's, more than any other family of, "A Song of Ice and Fire" have many different destinies upon them. Some of these destinies flow together, while others are driven to continents across the world: Ned Stark to Kings Landing, Arya Stark to Braavos, Robb Stark to the Red Wedding, Rickon Stark to House Umber, Jon Snow to The Wall, Sansa Stark to The Eyrie, Catelyn Tully to Lady Stoneheart, and Bran Stark to... an unknown destiny as of this time. Often times I wonder if fate will be kind enough to let whatever remnant of this family be reunited again.
The Stark's are my favorite family and I had no idea the emotional ride I was on when I chose to side with them.
This House, more than any other, has suffered badly. They have been betrayed, unjustly murdered, beaten, humiliated, crippled, and all they while trying to do the honorable and right thing. However, I still believe they will make a come back and have their justice upon those who sought to hurt and destroy them.
As Ned Stark once said, "The winters are hard, but the Starks will endure. We always have."
well its not really my type of art but...it definitly has something captivating...
i really like the detailed work on the clothes and how you took care to give each of them their signiture piece...that you gave jon the direwolf is also greate seeing how you positioned him outside the family circle (you positioned him behind his father so thats my interpretation^^°)
and as the blacksheep so to speak...
sooo even when i say its not my type i believe its beautifly done none the less^^
Wonderful piece, great detail, like Jons Black Cloack. Though i'm wondering why you decided to give Robb the TV short hair cut while he has shoulder length hair in the book series, and why Jon is the only Stark kid with his wolf?
thanks! To answer your question, I was sort of doing a hybrid of the book descriptions and the HBO series- very much at random. Also, I'm shit at drawing animals so I limited myself to just one direwolf.
Great Work! I think you really captured a lot of the character's personalities in the stances. Everything form the lengths of the furs down to Jon's black cloak adds a lot to each individual and then to them as a set.
I think I've come back and stared at this fanart of House Stark at least a 100 times, and I never tire of looking at it. You really capture House Stark and each individual member in a subtle and uniquely beautiful way. In short, I'm in awe!
